The Southern Seagull Nebula and Neighbors: This group of Nebulae are for me among the most beautiful and exciting arrangements of Deep Sky Objects within the LMC, which is so abundant of fascinating objects. NGC 2020 is a giant star, which has shed its outer layers of matter in several events into space. Its shape looks like a blue spinning wheel. To the right we find the large Emission Nebula NGC 2014 which is generated by several massive stars in its center. Above both objects lies the rather small Open Cluster NGC 2021
The left half 0f the image is dominated by the bright Reflexion Nebula NGC 2032, which is also called the Southern Seagull Nebula. It is surrounded by several Emission Nebulae with the designations NGC 2030, 2035 and 2040.
In the right part of the image another splendid group of Emission Nebulae make up a wonderfull arrangement: NGC 1974,1968 and 1955.
