Galactic Nebula NGC 6188 Wide Field: Next to the tail of the constellation of Scorpius one finds the constellation of Ara. It is part of a very star-rich area of the Milky Way with many Dark Nebulae from extended dust and molecular clouds. It also contains a beautiful emission nebula spanning several degrees in the sky.
The picture shows  NGC 6188 in the center surrounded by many dark nebulae with very interesting features. A smaller field of view can be seen here.

The RGB part of the image was taken under the very clear sky of Sutherland close to the site of the South African Large Telescope (SALT).
