Antares Nebulae: This wide-angle image shows one of the most colorful areas in the sky. It lies in the vicinity of the red supergiant star Antares in the constellation of Scorpius, left of the image center. Close by the Globular Cluster M4 can be detected.
The nebular skyscape consists of a combination of beautiful emission, reflection and dark nebulae. On the right hand side of the image prominent dark nebulae stretch out, the largest one of which is also called the Dark River.
