From Prawn to Firebird
From Prawn to Firebird: The sky region between the Prawn Nebula (IC 4628) in Scorpius and the Firebird Nebula (NGC 6188) in Ara contains very extensive stretches of Emission and Dark Nebulae, which are a bit neglected by many southern sky observers and also photographers. The area is displayed in this wide field image in its full extent.
In the left part of the image shines the bright emission nebula IC 4628 and to the right of it an arrangement of different interesting nebulae, the largest one shaped like a crescent moon.
On the right then marvellous Firebird Nebula.
