Orion with Barnard´s Loop: The image shows the constellation of Orion or The Hunter with the bright prominent stars Rigel (lower left) and Betelgeuse (upper right). In the center of the constellation shines the bright Great Orion Nebula and the vast emission complex around the Horse Head Nebula.
The red band of nebulosity is the faint Barnard´s Loop, the origin of which is still not known.
