Galactic Nebula NGC 2170: This image resembles more a modern painting than an astronomy picture. It was taken in the constellation of Monoceros and is part of a large molecular cloud, where young bright stars were born from. They illuminate the gas and dust in their neighbourhood such creating these very colourful emission, reflection and dark nebulae.
The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
