Seagull Nebula
Seagull Nebula: It is not yet clear if this is a galactic emission nebula or a super nova remnant. It has a huge extent and is believed to be 3400 LY away. Actually it is quite faint, therefore not so often observed and photographed.
In this wide-field image several prominent objects within the nebula can be recognized:The head of the seagull has the designation Sharpless 292, the end of the right wing Sharpless 297, above the right wing is van den Berg (vdB) 90 and 88, down right from center VdB 95. In addition quite a few Open Clusters are also contained in the image.
