Pencil Nebula: This very faint nebula is part of the huge Vela Super Nova Remnant complex. It emits light predominantly from oxygen and hygrogen atoms, which are excited by the shockfront of the Super Nova explosion.
The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
