Open Clusters M46,M47, NGC 2423 and Planetary Nebula NGC 2438: In this wide-angle image you will find four interesting objects: On the lower left is the bright Open Cluster M47, right of it the weaker Cluster NGC 2423, which has about twice the distance to us than M47. At the top left there is the dense starfield of M46 with its hundreds of stars, which shine like jewels. At the rim of it is the Planetary Nebula NGC 2438 with its slight oval form, which continues this heavenly show.
In addition at the right edge of the image the Open Cluster Melotte 71 appears.
