
Great Barred Spiral Galaxy: This wonderful galaxy in the southern constellation of Fornax is one of the greatest examples of a barred spiral galaxy. It is in a distance of about 56 mio LY. Latest research indicates that our Milky Way might resemble this galaxy very much.
The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
