Globular Cluster M4
Globular Cluster M4: This Globular Cluster in the constellation of Scorpius can be observed in the direct neighbourhood of the Red Supergiant Antares. It is with about 7000 LY the closest Globular Cluster, but also one of the oldest ones, as can be seen by the plentitude of yellowish giant stars in this image.
The image was taken at the IAS astronomical site at the Hakos farm in Namibia.
