Dark Nebula Barnard 50: This is one of the many Dark Nebulae in the central dust band of the Milky Way, catalogued by E.E. Barnard in his list of Dark Nebulae as no. 50. It is situated in one of the densest parts of our galaxy dimming the light of the many stars behind it nearly completely.
The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
