Circinus Galaxy
Circinus Galaxy: This Spiral Galaxy in a distance of only 15 Mio LY was not discovered until 36 years ago. It is obscured by a dense star field and dust in the plane of Milky Way. It seems to be a very active galaxy, ejecting gas out of its core, which is believed to harbour a super massive Black Hole.
The image was taken at the IAS astronomical site at the Hakos farm in Namibia.
