Southern Pinwheel Galaxy: M83 in this face-on view is a huge spiral galaxy, about 12 to15 million light years distant, and belongs like NGC 4945 and Centaurus A to a group of galaxies. It has all the features of a relatively young spiral galaxy: Star forming regions can be observed as blue and pink knots in the spiral arms. Also the huge dust bands indicate that there is a lot of genesis going on in this star island. Milky Way would probably look quite similar from a distance of millions of light years.
Also  notice the two galaxies at the bottom, which are much more distant.
