Galaxy NGC 300: NGC 300 is a prototyp spiral galaxy in a distance of approx. 6 Mio LY, and was thought to be part of the Sculptor Group of galaxies. Newer measurements indicate that it lies between our Local Group and the Sculptor Group and that it might be gravitationally interacting with the irregular galaxy NGC 55.
The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
