Galactic Nebulae NGC 3247 and NGC 3199
Galactic Nebulae NGC 3247 and NGC 3199: West of the brilliant Eta Carinae Nebula one can find this rarely photographed Open Cluster with a faint emission nebula NGC 3247, which was discovered by John Herschel in 1834. It is displayed in the center of this image with its rather distorted and torn structure.
On the right hand side another interesting object can be seen, the Wolf-Rayet nebula NGC 3199. It is created by the radiation and particle winds of an extremely hot star in the center of the crescent shaped shock waves.
