Galactic Nebulae IC 1805,1848-Wide-Field

Galactic Nebulae IC 1805,1848: The constellation of Cassiopeia is a huge treasure chest for deep sky objects. Among the top rank definitely these two emission nebulae. IC 1805 at the top of the image is also called Heart Nebula, due to its specific form, underneath is the fainter IC 1848, also called Soul Nebula. Both nebulae are prominent star generating regions with all the specifics of them, e.g. shock- and ionisation fronts as well as dark nebulae (see also the Hi-Res version).

Heart and Soul Nebula can be viewed in this wide-angle image in their full extent.
