Fornax Galaxy Cluster

Fornax Galaxy Cluster: After the famous Virgo Cluster this cluster of Galaxies is the second largest in a neighbourhood of approx. 100 Mio LY to us. It lies in a distance of about 60 Mio LY in the constellation of Fornax. The image shows the central part of the group.

The brightest group galaxy is NGC 1399 at the bottom of this image, the most attractive one the beautiful spiral of NGC 1365 at the top.
Many spiral and elliptical galaxies of different orientations and shapes can be detected in this image , especially in the Hi Res.
