47 Tucanae-20 inch

47 Tucanae: This exposure taken with a Keller 20" Cassegrain shows in high resolution this phantastic Globular Cluster. Several million suns shine in an astronomically small space of only 120 LY across, bound by their gravitation. NGC 104, as it is also called, is in a distance of about 12000 LY.

The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
