Snake Nebula: This nebula with the designation Barnard 72 is situated in the "smoke" of the Pipe Nebula. It is an excellent example of a Dark Nebula, which absorbs so much light that the background stars are not any more visible. This occurs through very dense dust and molecular clouds and gives it its winding snake-like shape.
