Large Magellanic Cloud
Large Magellanic Cloud: This galaxy in the constellation of Doradus or the Swordfish, which can only be seen from the Southern Hemisphere, is a smaller companion of our Milky Way. It is gravitationally bound to Milky Way and both interact. The distance to us is approx. 180000 light years. The bright spot in the upper center is the huge Tarantulum Nebula.
