
Jellyfish Nebula: In a distance of about 5000 LY, in the constellation of Gemini or The Twins one finds two very faint nebular regions. At the right hand side of this image there is IC 443, the upper part of which is also called Jellyfish Nebula. It is what is left from a Supernova explosion probably more than 30000 years ago and shows the shock fronts of this event on the interstellar matter.
The remaining part of the image, which has been taken in the light of the H-alpha emission line of hydrogen, is nearly entirely filled with the emission nebula IC 444.
