Eta Carinae Nebula Central Part: The central part of the extended Eta Carinae complex is here displayed with higher resolution. It is a breath taking sight how the radiation from the giant star Eta Carinae(more than 100 times the size of the sun), a dying star and prominent Super Nova candidate, creates beautiful complex structures including the Key Hole Nebula in the center. Several Open Clusters of young stars are also well resolved.
A Hubble Space Telescope picture of the direct environment of Eta Carinae shows the dramatic final life stage of this giant star.
