Skull Nebula: Some 1600 LY away this Planetary Nebula surrounds a dying star, which in this case is a binary system.The extent of the nebula is about 2.5 LY. The central star is becoming a hot white dwarf, the final life stage of a star about the mass of our sun, which will enter this phase in approx. 3.5 billion years.
