Sagittarius Triplet: Three outstanding nebulae are imaged in this wide-angle view: Lagoon Nebula (M8) on the lower right. Trifid Nebula M(20) on the upper right and a less known nebula IC 4685 on the lower left. All three star birth regions are a combination of emission (red) and reflection nebulae(blue). The different shades of color in the three objects as well as the dark dust spots and lanes make up for the beauty of this image from one of the star-densest parts of the Milky Way. It is a wider field of view version of an image taken nearly exactly one year before this one.
