Galaxy NGC 4945

Galaxy NGC 4945: About 9 million light years away this beautiful edge-on galaxy is another  highlight of the dense Milky Way in Centaurus. The huge molecule and dust bands indicate that there are many star generating processes going on. Probably our Milky Way would look quite similar to this, if we could see it edge-on from a few million light years distance.
