Banana Nebula

Wolf-Rayet Nebel in Carina

Wolf-Rayet Nebula NGC 3199: One of the bright stars in the center of this bubble-like nebula is a very hot massive star, generating the emission nebula around it with its fierce radiation and star winds. Such nebulae are called Wolf-Rayet Nebulae.  Due to the characteristics of the very bright parts of this nebula it is called Banana Nebula. The weaker regions of the object come out in deeper exposures.
