Dumbbell Nebula Wide Field: One of the most pretty examples of a so-called Planetary Nebula. The old astronomers called this type of objects planetary because in their low-resolution telescopes they looked like planets. Today we know that these are dramatic events of dying stars, which expell  radiation and matter when they start to expand. When these hit interstellar gas it is excited to glow in different colors.
The image shows Dumbell Nebula  in a wider field of view glowing like a beacon within a rich field of differently colored stars.
