Galaxy NGC 55
Galaxy NGC 55: This irregular galaxy is considered as part of the Sculptor Galaxy Group, but newer measurements indicate that it might rather be a member of our own Local Group of galaxies. Its location is on the boundary of the two groups in a distance of 7 Mio LY.

The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
