Great Orion Nebula

Great Orion Nebula:This object is one of the best known and best investigated emission nebula in the sky. Thousands of professional and amateure atronomers point their eyes and telescopes in every suited night to this nebula. This image shows two parts of the nebula: M42 up from lower right to center with the very bright trapezium region powering nearly all the emission, left above the center M43. A wider field of view can be found here.

The image was taken at the observatory of IAS at Hakos Farm in Namibia.
