Galactic Nebulae NGC 6357, 6334 Wide Field
Galactic Nebulae NGC 6357, 6334 Wide Field: Close to the tail stars of the constellation of Scorpius, Lesath and Shaula (bottom right of this image), one finds an extensive region of emission nebulae, the most prominent of which are NGC 6357 (left) and NGC 6334 (right). The latter one is also sometimes called Cat´s Paw Nebula and is in a distance of 5500 LY, NGC 6357 is in a distance of 8000 LY.
Very dense dust obscures both nebulae, so that visual observation is quite difficult.
