Gum Nebula
Gum Nebula: This wide field image spans nearly 40x30 degrees in the sky and covers the main part of the constellation of Vela. In this dense star field of the Milky Way hides the huge Gum Nebula complex, a very faint nebula structure which has probably originated from a tremendous super nova explosion approx. 1 million years ago.
