Goliath and David:The two images of M83 shown have been taken with two telescopes which differ in their size tremendously. The image on the left hand side was taken with one of the 8.2 meter telescopes of ESO on the Cerro Paranal in Chile. The one on the right hand side I took with the 0.5 meter Keller Cassegrain telescope of IAS at Hakos-Namibia.
Quite surprising David (0.5 meter Keller Cassegrain) is not so far behind Goliath (8.2 meter ANTU).
