Jupiter Occultation: Around 2am on 2 November 2012 the Moon occulted Jupiter and his moons when viewed from Southern  Africa.
The picture combination shows three stages at the beginning of the event, when Jupiter and his moons Ganymede, Callisto and Europa (from left in upper image) seemed to close up with the moon.
The lower two images show how Jupiter itself moves behind the  Moon.
